Paul’s 12th consecutive win, Steven holds his own in the kumite and Toni joins Paul and Dan in the team kata
First of all I’d like to congratulate everybody in their efforts at the recent North Wales Kyu Grades Championships. We had a fantastic result of 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze. In addition we also won two additional trophies: “Best Male Competitor” and “Best Attitude and Etiquette”. Well done!
Under the eyes of three world ranking karate masters the candidates were thoroughly put through their paces. In his toughest test yet consisting of a written thesis and a two hour practical examination Paul demonstrated great skill, knowledge and technique which saw him promoted to the rank of 5th Dan black belt. This achievement is particularly special since very few black belts reach this level of expertise, a goal that has taken Paul nearly 25 years to reach.
Well done to Pete Bonser for winning the Kata event at this year’s TWC course and congratulations to Toni James for gaining her Instructor’s Qualification.
